(Note : Christopher were an underground acid rock trio featuring future Josefus drummer
Doug Tull. They evolved from United Gas, a psychedelic band from Houston who
rubbed shoulders with legends like The 13th Floor Elevators & Moving Sidewalks.
After relocating to Los Angeles, where they changed his name to Christopher,
they played at numerous biker parties and recorded their sole album in 1970 for
the Metromedia label. It’s an amazing example of West Coast psychedelia / acid
-rock featuring strong fuzz-wah guitar, great compositions and superb
        musicianship)

with bluesy overtones, heavy guitar playing, punkish vocals, and swirling

played at all the major venues and ballrooms, supporting famous bands like
Jefferson Airplane and The Who. In 1969, the band recorded a demo at Pacific
High Recordings in San Francisco, at the same time as the Grateful Dead were
recording their classic Working Man's Dead album there. The demo was in fact
a fully-finished album of bombastic psychedelia, acid-rock and proto-prog with
loud fuzz-wah guitars, long tracks, crazy percussion and killer flute. Here's
the first-ever vinyl reissue of these lost recordings. Master tape sound, incl.

(Note : though they only released one 45 during their existence, Children of the
Mushroom epitomized the psychedelic garage sound coming out of California in
the late '60s. Formed in Thousand Oaks by Jerry McMillen and Dennis Swanson,
they evolved from a mid-'60s teen-beat band called The Captives. In 1967, they
became Children of the Mushroom, a name which reflected their new psychedelic
sound and image. The following year, they caught the attention of a couple of
young producers, who signed the band for a 45 release. Recorded in 1968 for
Soho Records, August Mademoiselle/You Can't Erase a Mirror is one of the master
ieces from the first psychedelic era. Fold-out colour insert with liner notes,
interview with the band members, and rare photos)

B4 Bitter Seeds, The Is That Your Halo
B5 Bitter Seeds, The Pooch's Fingers

(Note : The Bitter Seeds were one of the pioneering bands from the early Monterey music
scene. Led by flashy guitar player Leonard "Pooch" Paschini, they were active
from 1966 to 1970, gigging regularly at such legendary venues as Bull's Eye
Tavern, Longshoremen's Hall, The Matrix, and The Fillmore and sharing stages
with the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Iron Butterfly, and Steppenwolf.
In 1967, The Bitter Seeds recorded their only 45, issued on Rowena Records as
The Rock Shop to avoid confusion with The Seeds. State of Your Mind/Is That
Your Halo is a brutal garage-psych double-sider. The following year the group
recorded four studio tracks that have remained unreleased until now. These are
perfect examples of the transition from R&B-garage to early psychedelic sounds
that many San Francisco ballroom bands experienced at the time. An exciting
find for any lover of lost West Coast psychedelic sounds. For this Bitter Seeds
/Rock Shop retrospective, Out-Sider has also unearthed some wild live record.
from 1966 with good sound quality. Includes four-page insert with liner notes,
        photos, and memorabilia. Remastered sound.)

& the Fly" and "The Diamond Mine" on the legendary 1979 compilation Pebbles
Vol. 3 (the "acid-punk" volume). These youngsters from Colorado formed in 1964
and were famous for driving to gigs in a custom Cadillac hearse. Between 1965
and 1968, they released a bunch of singles for different labels:Chicory, Denco,

(Note : The Lemon Drops, one of the finest garage-psych bands from Chicago (of "I Live
in the Springtime" fame), relocated to the West Coast, where they gigged around
and tried to secure a record contract. After a three-day strawberry acid party
at manager Dan Herron's mansion, the original band disintegrated. And that's
when power trio Buzzsaw was born, featuring Eddie and Gary Weiss (both ex-Lemon
Drops) on guitar and drums respectively and Rick Fertel on bass. Buzzsaw was
the perfect vehicle for Eddie Weiss (whose use of fuzz and distortion was the
trademark sound of The Lemon Drops) to push his guitar and effects pedals to
the limit. The trio used to visit Star Hill, Neil Young's old sawmill in La
Honda, where they rehearsed and wrote songs. The photo used for the front cover
of this collection was taken there. In 1971, Max Weiss (Creedence Clearwater

Merrell and violin player Mary Lee were living in the jungle of Maui, this is
a brilliant set of spiritual folk-rock and light orchestrated pop. The album
was recorded at various Hollywood studios, initially sponsored by a producer
from George Harrison's Dark Horse label. In fact, Harrison was so impressed
with Merrell's songs that he expressed interest in playing slide guitar on "On
Our Way to Hana." Sadly, due to internal problems, Dark Horse backed off and
Merrell found himself without a label to release the album. Finally, a couple
of friends from Maui released it on the small Maui Music label)

rocked the Northwest music scene between 1968-1971, building up a reputation as
one of the better live bands from the Pacific Northwest ballroom circuit. In
addition to releasing a bunch of 45s for several local labels, the band
recorded a lot of stuff at their own state-of-the art home studio, material
that has not seen the light of day until now. This retrospective features
a selection from their previously unreleased tape archive plus rare 45 sides,
1967-1970, including the fantastic garage-jangle 45 they recorded under the
Genesis name. Music ranges from British-influenced mod-psych to early hard rock

Rocky Kaler (bass). Influenced by bands like Deep Purple, Mountain, and Grand
Funk, they gigged around town playing lots of psychedelic clubs and venues. In
1970, they recorded a demo with the intention of securing a record deal, but
the deal never came. The demo tape was in fact a fully finished album recorded
and engineered by a friend of the band, Mick Gauzaski, who, despite using
a homemade studio, managed to obtain a real pro sound -- no wonder Gauzaski has
since won multiple Grammys. The Sabattis demo remained unreleased until 2011
when Jargon Records discovered the tapes and put out a CD edition with the
band's involvement. This is the first vinyl release of Warning in the Sky,
remastered from the original tapes, featuring a new cover design, and including
an insert with rare photos+liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic

A great vinyl reissue of the extremely rare 1980 privately pressed album by Ray 'McKay'
Pierle, originally issued in an edition of 300 copies. This basically is the follow up
to 1977's cult album 'Into You', which was relased under the McKay moniker. Compared to
that work, 'Time And Money' reveals a more hard-rocking approach, featuring melodic
songs and catchy hooks, and plenty of fuzz, wah and twin-guitar attacks. Most of the
album was recorded in Ray's home-studio, providing a warm, analogue vibe. This reissue
features sound from the master tapes and an insert with lyrics and liner notes.

Private hard rock ultra-rarity from Texas exhumed for the first time. With only 200
copies released in 1975, the Stud album has become a holy grail for collectors.
A mystery for many years (all the band members used pseudonyms on the album credits),
the band seemed impossible to track down... until now. Formed in 1974 in Houston, Stud
ft. the killer lead guitar of 17-year-old genius Tim Williams, the brutal Rickenbacker
bass attacks of Paul Eakin, and the solid-as-a-rock drumming of George Lasher. The
chemistry was born when they first starting played together, and after many rehearsals
they decided they were ready to record their first album. So they entered the Barons
Studios in Rosenberg, and Stud was the result. Powerful hard rock ("A Woman Like You"
and "Jim/Blues"), killer boogie-rock ("Captain Boogie"), hard psychedelic jams (the 13
minutes of "Stud"), and progressive hard rock on the impressive "The War Song." File
next to Morly Grey and Incredible Hog. Remastered sound. Color insert with lots of
previously unseen photos and liner notes by Paul Eakin telling the band's story for the
first time.

The first MacArthur album, known in collectors circles as 'The Black Forest' due to
the '80s vinyl bootleg of the same title, was recorded in 1979 with a four-track
machine. Produced by Bill Heffelfinger, 'MacArthur' is a progressive/psychedelic
concept album highlighted by devastating, ripping fuzz guitar solos and mini-Moog
/synth attacks. The album was originally issued by the band in a primitive hand-made
sleeve with just a sticker on front and a paper sheet with the credits glued on back.
Now this first ever legit reissue comes in a printed sleeve with embossed letters on
the front, as the band originally intended.

The first ever legit vinyl reissue of this private press progressive hard-rock LP
from Texas, 1974, featuring excellent dual guitars, keyboards, melodic vocals and
West Coast touches. To get an idea, think Allman Brothers, early ZZ Top, Wishbone
Ash, or the incredible Homer... Revealing top notch production and superb musicianship,
'Jungle Lady' saw the light in two different pressings: the original white label
LIPS vinyl from 1974 is the first edition, and the red LIPS label issue contains
a later remix done in Nashville, possibly around 1975. This Out-sider reissue is
taken from the remix version, as that one's way "hotter" than the original pressing.
It features sound from the master tapes and includes an insert with detailed liner
notes and photos.

The first ever legit reissue of a totally under the radar US private pressing from
1982. The music however is '60s/'70s influenced psychedelic hard-rock full of
distorted guitar and freaky synths with some mellowed-out folky moments. File next
to other psych misfits such like T Kail, D.R. Hooker, Marcus or Michael Angelo. This
edition has remastered sound with corrected pitch/speed, and includes an insert with
detailed liner notes and rare photos. "Despite the 1982 release date, this upstate
NY album feels like vintage '70s stoner music. It's mostly mild hardrock with some
psych and prog moves." ~Aaron Milenski (Acid Archives).

LP version. Out-Sider Records present the first ever legit reissue of Crystalaugur's
Terranaut, originally released in 1975. This reissue is done with the band's
involvement. Crystalaugur were formed by four young ex-pats attending school in
Singapore in the early 70s: Howard Kukla, Kim Bengs, Bryan Hall and Guy Rittger.
For most of them this was their first serious musical experience. Terranaut was
recorded on a 4-track machine and subsequently released by the band in a private
edition of 200 copies on their own Warped Records imprint. Terranaut is ultimate
underground, lo-fi, psychedelic rock. Loose feel, raw sound, spacey prog-funk
touches, sound effects and some proto-DIY, pre-punk vibes which bring to mind Velvet
Underground or avant-garage '70s Cleveland bands like Pere Ubu but also hard-rockers
ala Pink Fairies or Stray. Bootlegged many times over the years, this is the first
ever legit reissue of this "lost-in-time" psychedelic artefact. Includes insert with
rare photos and detailed liner notes by Jeremy Cargill (Got Kinda Lost, Ugly Things),
explaining the fascinating story behind Crystalaugur and debunking many myths and
false rumors about the band and their only album. Cargill says, "Terranaut is a
rollicking, rumbling and lightly ramshackle bomb of cosmic teenage hard rock informed
by an infatuation with the early rumblings of progressive rock (given a proto-punk
edge by the discontent of the group's constituents)." Featured in Hans Pokora's
Record Collector Dreams book with the maximum scale rarity.

Garage anthems, jangly folk-rock and baroque pop from 1966-'67, courtesy of prolific
songwriter Paul Myerberg a.k.a. Paul Martin from NYC. In the late '90s Distortions
Records released a wonderful LP of Paul's recordings. It was a compilation of tracks
from his two sought-after singles, plus studio demos and acetates. Now here's a
revamped version of that collection, featuring new artwork, newly remastered sound,
an insert with rare photos and liner notes, and one previously unreleased track from
1967.

The first ever vinyl reissue of this (infamous) private press classic, championed by
lovers of the weird'n'wonderful, including Jello Biafra. Active in LA's post-beatnik,
pre-hippie scene, Robbie The Werewolf -a red haired and bearded folksinger with a
fetish for monsters- was a manic performer, acting out his songs as much as singing
them. His set consisted of both originals and unique reworkings of folk standards,
played on a beat-up twelve-string guitar. This resulted in truly bizarre songs s.a.
'Count Dracula' (check out those proto-psychedelic effects!) or the insane 'Rockin'
Werewolf'. The LP was recorded during a heady night at The Waleback in LA, in 1964.
Robbie would later become a founding member of cult band Clear Light, but that's
another story. The LP includes an insert with detailed liner notes by Gray Newell
(Shindig!, Ugly Things) and Alan Brackett (Peanut Butter Conspiracy) and is housed
in an old-style tip-on sleeve.

Sounding ahead of its time, these are raw and homemade garage, jangly pop and basement
psych sounds from Paraguay, originally released in 1971! Playing ultra-catchy garage
-pop, killer instrumental Farfisa tunes and proto-psychedelic sounds, Jodi (Joern and
Dirk Wenger) may be seen as precursors of the indie-pop and lo-fi garage scenes which
would emerge some decades later.

Wow! What an incredible find! This is a previously unreleased album by a mysterious
band from Texas, produced in 1970 by C.L. Milburn of Sea Ell Records. The band's style
is an exciting and totally far-out blend of '60s garage-punk, Texas psych in the vein
of 13th Floor Elevators, Golden Dawn and Cold Sun, Velvet Underground-like moods and
'70s pre-punk. Now get ready for some awesome distorted steel guitar eruptions, super
snotty vocals and the wild guitar of "Wolf" Mike Long (Stone Axe, Josefus). Three of
these cuts appeared on a 1994 compilation dedicated to the Sea Ell label, but most of
the material is totally unheard!

10 Four To Open The Door 09:34

Formed in Toronto, Canada, in the late '60s, Heat Exchange are known for their three
fantastic 45s for the Yorkville label - released in the early '70s - on which they
mixed hard rock with psychedelic, heavy progressive and funk-rock sounds. So, it's
a major surprise that in 1972, the band recorded more stuff with the intention of
releasing an album. But in the end, the album deal fell through and only four of
those tracks were released as part of their 45s. Soon after, the band disbanded.
Luckily, the band members have kept a copy of the master tape all these years. So,
presented here for the first time ever are the complete Heat Exchange studio rec.
including their three 45s plus the previously unreleased recordings they recorded
in 1972 for their never-released LP. Fabulous UK-sounding, heavy progressive, and
psychedelic hard rock with top-level musicianship, well-constructed songs, powerful
vocals, sax, flute, wah-wah, organ, and a solid rhythm section. RIYL: King Crimson,
Jethro Tull, Samurai (UK), Web's I Spider (1970), Human Beast, Deep Purple. Remastered
sound; Insert with detailed liner notes and photos, including an introduction by Rich
Sheppard (After The Sabbath).

LP version. Includes download code with three bonus tracks; Includes insert with
photos and liner notes. Psychedelic garage, proto-power pop, and psych-funk from
Paraguay circa 1969-1975. Pop Espontáneo includes a selection of previously unreleased
recordings by Joern and Dirk Wenger's duo Jodi, registered at their state-of the-art
8-track home studio in Asunción, Paraguay. Living in their own isolated world and
free from any commercial pressure, Joern Wenger, a kind of Paraguayan Brian Wilson
or R. Stevie Moore, created a particular, ahead-of-its-time sound, using electric
guitars, fuzz boxes, Moog, Mellotron, Clavinet, Farfisa. In 2016, Out-Sider unearthed
and reissued the first Jodi album, Pops De Vanguardia (OSR 056CD/LP), originally
released in 1971, which is probably the first DIY lo-fi garage/psychedelic album
from South America. Now, Out-Sider present this incredible collection of unreleased
recordings which were hidden in Joern Wenger's basement for several decades.
RIYL: Beatles, Kinks, Shoes, Jan Hammer, United States Of America, Cleaners From
Venus, Ariel Pink, Guided By Voices, Beat Happening, Tropicalia. Superb sound taken
from the original master tapes; includes insert with rare photos and detailed liner
notes by Eduardo A. Elizalde Pietruczyk (aka Bubbling Minds).

psychedelic ballroom bands from San Francisco. Electric and acoustic guitars, bass,
drums, flute... Recommended if you like similar private psych-jazz obscurities like
Elysian Spring. Hasting's Street Opera was formed in Montclair, New Jersey by a group

'I Can't Explain' (The Who), 'Let's Live For Today' (Rokes/Grass Roots) and the
aforementioned 'Tobbaco Road' (based on the Blues Magoos cover but including an
extended crazed theremin/drum freak out!). Recommended if you like The Bachs, Blues
Magoos, Mystery Meat and the like... Carefully remastered sound by Tim Warren.

One of the holy grails of American psychedelic rock and the rarest album originally
released by the collectable Metromedia label. Christopher were an underground acid
rock trio featuring future Josefus drummer Doug Tull. They evolved from United Gas,
a psychedelic band from Houston who rubbed shoulders with legends like The 13th Floor
Elevators and Moving Sidewalks. After relocating to Los Angeles - where they changed
their name to Christopher - they played at numerous biker parties and recorded their
sole album in 1970 for the Metromedia label. It's an amazing example of West Coast
psychedelia/acid-rock featuring strong fuzz-wah guitar, great compositions and superb
musicianship. It was housed in a terrific cover depicting the band at the same hippie
crash-pad where some scenes from the 'The Trip' movie were filmed. Repress in hard
cardboard sleeve with obi and insert with liner notes. Remastered.

First album by US hard-rock band Goliath (of Hot Rock & Thunder fame), recorded
in 1970 but never released at the time. First vinyl edition. Goliath was formed
in 1969 when the Sons of Sound, Kicks, and the XL's dissolved. They were: Steve
Peters (drums), Bill Peters (bass), Paul "Doug" (the Golden Throat) Mason (Hammond
B3 Organ), George "Charlie" Egy, (lead vocals), and George Phelps (guitar).
In 1970 they entered Allen-Martin Studios in Louisville, KY and registered what
should have been their first album. The tapes remained unreleased until the Gear
Fab label recovered them and did a CD edition in 2009. This is classic hard-rock
with psych and prog touches, prominent Hammond organ, hard guitar, melodic vocals.
Master tape sound and insert with liner notes and photos.

First ever legit vinyl reissue, sanctioned by the band members, of this collectable
psych/folk/hard-rock album from 1973. Brigg were a rural Pennsylvania folk-tinged
psychedelic band formed by three high school friends: Rob Morse, Jeff Willoughby
and Rusty Foulke. In 1973, they borrowed the money to record their first album
together. They called it Brigg after one member saw the name in a dream. It was
recorded at a grocery store converted into a 4-track studio. The photos for the
cover were taken in a purportedly haunted house in Danville. The band members
pressed 1000 copies and sold some to their friends but never played a live show
together. They divided the remaining copies between them and went their separate
ways. Several decades later, the Brigg album became a collector's item and was
bootlegged all over the world. This is the first ever legit vinyl reissue.

OSR 089 APOCALYPSE THE CASTLE LP 02.2022

SIDE 1: 1. The Spirit

        3. Turning Around
SIDE 2: 1. The Castle
        2. All The People

'70s Chicago-area based band Apocalypse used their double-neck guitars to create
chamber prog suites about faraway castles. Their lost 1976 LP (used as a demo),
with male/female harmonies, violin, mellotron and fuzzed-out guitars/keys has been
unearthed by Steve "Plastic Crimewave" Krakow. With their lenghty and tuneful
musical odysseys, Apocalypse conjures the golden mid-'70s progressive period of
Renaissance, Soft Machine, ELP, Gentle Giant and Genesis. Travel back in time with
the Salvatori family. Way back to 1976, when he was in high school, Tom Salvatori
teamed up with older brother Michael Salvatori, Michael's wife Gail Salvatori and
Tom's classmate Scott Magnesen. As Apocalypse they recorded an album of pure
progressive rock magic called 'The Castle.' Although the 5-song, 38-minute demo
was an amazing showcase for their collective progressive rock leanings, "The Castle"
remained an unreleased artifact until 2021 when the reel-to-reel master tape of
the presumably long-lost relic was rediscovered by Michael in a dusty old basement
storage bin. Music fans can be thankful that Michael's rediscovery of the Apocalypse
master tape has now led to a vinyl-only reissue of 'The Castle.' Sourced from the
original masters. Insert with photos and liner notes by Plastic Crimewave.

Here's an LP of awesome, previously unreleased recordings of a very loud power
trio from San Francisco, modeled after Cream, Blue Cheer and The Jimi Hendrix
Experience. Included are a fantastic studio demo from 1968 plus raw and wild live
tracks from 1969. Comrades of Moby Grape and The Sons Of Champlin, this power-trio
was formed by Barry "The Bee" Bastian (Canned Heat, Lee Michaels...) on guitar
and vocals, John Barrett (The Rhythm Dukes) on bass and Fuzzy John Oxendine
(Roky Erickson & The Aliens, Jerry Miller Band...) on drums. The LP comes with an
insert featuring rare photos and detailed liner notes, and a downlaod for the full
album plus bonus material.
